Rishi

This week, the Government reaffirmed its commitment to raising defence spending to 2.5 per cent of GDP by 2030, reflecting the escalating global tensions and the need for enhanced security measures.

It is regrettable that such circumstances necessitate this move, but the Conservatives are rising to the challenge and prioritising our nation's security. However, Labour has not yet indicated whether they would uphold this pledge, underscoring the importance of strong and decisive leadership in safeguarding our country's interests. As your representative, I am committed to supporting measures that ensure the safety and well-being of our country.

'm also pleased to announce that on Tuesday, Rishi Sunak unveiled an additional £500 million of military funding to Ukraine, alongside the largest supply of munitions to Kyiv, as part of the UK's ongoing support for Ukraine's defence against Russian aggression.

This brings Britain's total military aid commitment for the current financial year to £3 billion, exceeding previous years' contributions. The aid package includes 1,600 strike and air defence missiles, 4 million rounds of ammunition, Storm Shadow cruise missiles, 400 all-terrain and armoured vehicles, 60 fast raiding craft, engineering support, and battlefield drones.

This substantial assistance underscores our commitment to Ukraine's security and strengthens our ties with our key European allies.

As you may know, NatWest are planning to close their Notting Hill and South Kensington branches.

These closures will limit access to vital banking services that require face to face appointments, disproportionately affecting some of the most vulnerable members of our society.
