Government has brought in a new law to allow Sadiq Khan to take community social value into account when selling disused police stations like Notting Hill Police Station. And if Sadiq Khan does sell our police station, I will work with the council to buy it back for police and community use.
I am campaigning to stop Sadiq Khan’s sudden tube station closures. I’m also campaigning for more step-free access at our tube stations and our Kensington buses to go all electric. I will always fight for cleaner, greener and more accessible transport.
Funding to redevelop St Mary’s Hospital in Paddington has been secured as part of our commitment to improve our healthcare. I’ll continue to work with and support the Imperial College NHS Trust on their redevelopment plans.
In July 2021, the Notting Hill area suffered from serious flooding. Since then, I have been campaigning hard for short and long-term infrastructure investment in London’s sewage system. That way we can heavily reduce the risk of flooding in Kensington & Bayswater.
We've brought in new laws to make housing providers more accountable for the standard of housing they offer to tenants – so we can crack down on damp, mould and slow repairs to properties.
It is my firm belief that there can be no compromise on standards in social housing.
We need more housing but any new developments must be in keeping with our skyline and conservation areas.
To that end, I will continue to campaign against unfit development around South Kensington Tube Station and monitor new developments in Earl's Court and Ladbroke Grove.
