North Kensington deserves a properly resourced policing operation in order to protect people and make our community feel safe.
The Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, had proposed to shut down the police base at Royalty Studios, however after a campaign from myself and local councillors, we received an extension to its lease that allowed it to operate for a further year.
I am encouraged that the new Met Police Commissioner, Sir Mark Rowley, has spoken of his desire for a greater emphasis on frontline policing. A permanent home for policing in North Kensington would deliver on this promise, and for this community.
In October 2022, I wrote to the Deputy Mayor for Crime and Policing, Sophie Linden, to request a meeting on this issue.

We, the undersigned, call on the Mayor of London, Sadiq Khan, and the Deputy Mayor for Crime and Policing, Sophie Linden, to save Notting Hill Police Station and to maintain a permanent police presence in North Kensington.
